Support through fundraising is key to enabling Open Hands to continue to make a difference in the lives of people in need in Leicester, and there are so many ways that you can get involved and make a difference!

There have been many different creative ways that people have fundraised for us over the last 17 years, as individuals, groups and organisations.

Selling On Line

Did you know that you can sell your items on Ebay and request that some or all of the money you raise us donated to Open Hands. A great way to get rid of your unneeded stuff and raising money at the same time. Especially if you have items that we do not need donating.

You can also sell items on Vinted, or other online selling platforms and then donate the money to us via the website. If you have items of clothing that we do not need, such as high heels, or party dresses, these can still go to help us buying the essential items that we do need. Once you have sold your items you can then donate.

Tawanda Mutoti is running across Scotland for Open Hands!😲

On the 8th August 2026, I will be taking part in Race Across Scotland — 215 miles from coast to coast — all to raise money for Open Hands, a charity providing food, clothing, and vital support to people in need.

Running day and night, pushing through tough terrain, every mile is about loving God and loving people. Every donation, big or small, will help Open Hands continue their incredible work supporting vulnerable individuals and families.

Every mile will be tracked in Strava. (Training and race)

As Matthew 11:28 says:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

London to Brighton 100K walk!

If you like walking and non-stop for 24 hours, then why not take part the Ultra Challenge! Beth, our Charity Manager walked from London to Brighton in May 2025 to raise fund for Open Hands.

Or there are lots of smaller walks that you can take part in if Ultra is not your thing, in and around Leicester!

4.  Set a date and let us know what you are doing so we can help to promote your fundraiser.

Start Fundraising. Make sure your hard work counts.
