The Team

Open Hands couldn’t operate without an amazing team of over 100 faithful volunteers who dedicate their time to serve each and every one of our guests. Our team is passionate to provide the highest quality of service and is supported by volunteer project leaders and project coordinator staff.

Open Hands received ‘The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service’ in 2016 in recognition of the good work delivered by our brilliant volunteers in the local community. The charity’s staff team oversee and care for our teams, our Compassion Centre and fundraising. The charity is governed by a Board of Trustees who bring a diverse range of skills and expertise and are passionate in steering the charity in best practises to benefit those it serves.

All staff and volunteers are expected to be aware of potential risks, remain vigilant, and take action if they have concerns about someone’s safety or wellbeing. Any concerns are reported and responded to in line with our safeguarding procedures.
