Clothing Donations

We supply the emergency provision of clothing to people who are going without essential items.

Every Tuesday and Thursday morning we help to meet the practical needs of individuals referred to Open Hands for help.

All donations are given to our guests as received and so must be clean, in good condition and ready to wear. All items must be free from rips, stains or tears. Thank you for giving quality items that uphold people’s dignity and make people feel good about themselves.

When sorting donations out, please refer to the chart below for what is needed. Whilst we value every donation, sometimes we receive items that are unsuitable for our guests.

Our baby clothes storage is currently fully stocked at Open Hands. If you are looking for somewhere that baby clothes, toys or equipment will find a good home check out Baby Basics website which highlights their current donation needs.

Buy and drop off

We are able to accept donations between 1-5pm on Tuesdays and 3-5pm on Thursdays at our Open Hands Compassion Centre (19 Lower Willow Street, Leicester, LE1 2HP). Please ring the doorbell when you arrive.

You may also find donation points at your local Church.

Buy and have delivered to us

If you’d like to help but don’t have items to donate at home, or simply want to be sure you’re buying exactly what we need, just visit the Give Today website. There, you’ll find a list of our most wanted supplies.

Whether you’re buying one item or one hundred, there’s no minimum order and no delivery charge. Everything is delivered by courier straight to us, and you’ll get a confirmation email once your donation is on its way.
